How to Make a Film Strip from a Video
You do not need Photoshop or a darkroom. Filmstripify is a free film strip generator that turns any video into a vintage film strip image right in your browser — no account, no upload, no watermark.
- Upload your video or use the sample
Drag and drop an MP4, MOV or WebM file, or click "Try the sample video". Keep videos under about 2 minutes.
- Choose your time range
Drag the start and end handles on the timeline to select the section you want.
- Pick a film style and frame rate
Choose from Black & White, Warm Sepia, Kodak Gold or Original, then set the frame rate (1, 2, 4 or 6 fps). Frame output is capped for browser performance.
- Adjust grain and sprockets
Fine-tune film grain and toggle the sprocket holes to taste.
- Download your film strip
Hit "Develop film strip" and download a high-resolution PNG, or grab individual frames.
Quick tips
- 2–4 fps gives the most readable frames for a typical clip.
- Horizontal suits desktop; vertical suits stories and mobile.
- Shorter clips (5–30 seconds) produce tighter, more striking strips.
