FAQ
What is Filmstripify?
Filmstripify is a free tool that turns any video into a vintage film strip image with sprocket holes, film grain and retro color tones. It extracts frames at your chosen frame rate and arranges them on a film strip.
Is Filmstripify free?
Yes, Filmstripify is completely free to use. There is no sign-up and no watermark on generated film strips.
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. All processing happens locally in your browser using WebAssembly. Your video and frames never leave your device.
What film styles are available?
Filmstripify offers four styles: Black & White, Warm Sepia, Kodak Gold and Original. You can also adjust grain intensity and whether sprocket holes are shown.
What frame rates can I use?
You can set the extraction rate in frames per second (fps), such as 1 fps, 2 fps or 4 fps, or choose a target number of frames for the whole video.
Can I select a time range?
Yes. After loading a video, a timeline appears where you can drag the start and end handles to extract frames only from the range you want.
How is Filmstripify different from a normal video-to-frames tool?
Most video-to-frames tools output a plain grid of images. Filmstripify produces a designed vintage film strip — a finished, shareable image — not just raw frames.
Can I use the film strips commercially?
Yes. Images you generate with Filmstripify are yours to use, including for commercial projects.
Do you save or store my video?
No. We do not store, save, or transmit your video or any extracted frames. Everything is processed in your browser and discarded when you close the page. There is no account, no database, and nothing to delete.
